Story – Cutscene System

This is the first update that introduces some lore. “Cutscenes” are just text for now. In future I am going to include storyboards to give players a better idea of what’s happening, and eventually switch to 3d renders.

It is important to note I do not plan for this game to have visual novel elements.

Two part tutorial was added to the start of the game. There are cutscenes inbetween the tutorial parts gounding them in the story, and introducing some characters. Cutscenes, and tutorials are skippable. If you want to play or replay the full tutorial, you can do that by accessing the “Stand-Alone Tutorial” from the Title Screen.

Version 0.2.2 has 3 written cutscenes, and one placeholder for another cutscene just before entering The Hub Area.

Cutscenes are subject to changes like most parts of the game.

Changes

  • Pause menu should now open whenever you Alt-Tab/ application loses focus.

  • Tutorial area had some minor changes to accommodate the split into two parts, and cutscenes.

  • Confirmation Window’s contents have minor transparency animation.

Bugfix

  • Grabbed Crates no longer show multiple LOD models while playing at high FOV settings.

  • Interaction key no longer works when the game is paused
