A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

(Still in development)

Goblin Resort is a speed platformer, memory, roguelite, adult game with management elements played in first person. The game requires you to think fast on your feet, and be able to adapt to different play styles, while testing your memory.

You play as “The Boss”, a cursed man who was given a task of managing a holiday resort inside a fantasy dungeon - a lewd paradise, open to many different races searching for ways to have fun.

Gameplay Loop

In-game days are divided into 2 phases; Preparations and Management of The Resort, and Dungeon Runs.

During Preparations and Management phase you spend your resources to unlock content, change your powers, and add various modifiers to The Dungeon and Boss.

Dungeon Runs are the core part of the game where you explore randomly generated layout of hand-crated rooms, and try to finish Main Objectives before time runs out. The Main Objectives are:

  • Find The Magic Mirror.

  • Find the guest, whose face appeared in The Magic Mirror (you might have met them on the way to The Mirror, or you need to explore more)

  • Return to The Entrance (you better remember your way out)

To succeed you are going to need to familiarize yourself with different rooms and layouts, manage your time, and plan your way out.

Features

Seal System

You can gain various abilities, stat ups, and dungeon modifiers in exchange for some bad perks. For every disadvantage, you can gain an advantage.

Current version has

  • 132 Seals for you to try out different combinations to suit your playstyle and needs.

The game has different movement abilities in form of different kind of jumps and dashes, as well as navigation abilities like radars, compasses, x-ray vision, and more.

Unlockable Adult Content

You have full control of what kind of adult content you want to unlock. If you are not into bunny girls, or sexy orcs, then you can simply choose not to spend your resources on them

Adjustable Lewdness System

The games adult content is divided into six Tiers, ranging from completely safe to play in front of your relatives, or streaming for strangers on internet to deviant fetishes you wouldn’t want anyone to see. You are in control how hardcore you want to your Goblin Resort experience to be.

Dungeon Generation

Dungeons are randomly generated based on templates, and built out of hand-crafted rooms. There is also an option to input custom seeds, and Guest NPCs spawn with random faces to further increase the variety.

Current version has:

  • 10 Generation Templates

  • over 50 rooms with various traps and obstacles

  • 64 faces for your Guests

Important Placeholders

Guest placeholders (you can test the game with those):

  • Goblins (female)

  • Bunny Girls

  • Western Kobolds (female)

  • Western Orcs (female)

  • Eastern Orcs (female)

  • Wood Elf (female)
  • Night Elf (female)

The game still does not have implemented adult content!

About Development

The game is in development. Some features are still not implemented, A lot of audio is missing. Expect to see placeholders (All UI is going to be changed in future).

Unlike most adult games I see in development, which draw people in with their lewd visuals, I concentrated on the gameplay part, and because of that the current build has no adult content, but will be added as development progresses.

I have big plans for the game, but I work on it on my own. I am developing it with expansion in mind, gradually adding missing features, more rooms, adult animations, and eventually story. All development builds are going to be free, so please try them out.

Can you tell me the names of the darkest dungeon like games you found? I cant find any in the roguelite category.

Ero Dungeons by madodev, Jessika’s Curse by Venus Noire, Eld by introspurt (this one is not on itch), there is another game on itch that has two female characters and the enemies are plant themed but I do not remember the name of it.

I also played some asian games like Darkest Dungeon.

Of course there is Darkest Sex Dungeon mod as well.

I hope that helps. I wish itch had private messaging. I am sure you understand talking about other games under different games is not ideal.

Thanks, i tried to search a way to send you a PM.

Sorry, I didn't think that would be a problem.

It's really unfortunate itch does not have any messaging. Have fun with those games.

I remembered the name of the other game I mentioned

it was

Spire of Slime by Houtamelo, you can find it on itch

(+1)

are the cutscenes bugged

all i see is a rock texture and text that doesn't move

(+1)

Unfortunately in the current version of the game cutscenese are text only.

I mention that in the window when you start new game

I am going to add story boards in future builds, and eventually 3d renders.

Thank you for checking out the game.

Is there going to be gay stuff in a future version?

Thanks for commenting. No, I don't plan on adding any gay content, so sorry if you were hoping for that

What about futa content?

Yes, optional unlocks. It would one of the higher Lust Tier tags in some magic potion category that is not even in the game yet. I plan on variety of fetishes, it's just I haven't gotten to implementing lewd content.

My goal is to create a lewd game with engaging gameplay, and customizable experience as far as adult content goes by giving players options what fetishes they want to unlock, and how perverted they want the game to be by unlocking Lust Tiers.

I hope you are going to look forward to all that.

i wish there was a way to change the time i have, i honestly can barely complete some rooms, its fun but the mana on jumping feels very slow and makes it feel tough to do things, i get its a platformer but im not to good and lthe slow jumps plus my lakc of skills and a short time make it ver ydifficult to do anything. and the gold system feels quite hard, i think the game has potential though. i just wish possible there was a difficulty setting or even setting to give yourself more time. id also like to add the ui is a bit confusing, i think a tutorial to help explane what and why things are there and how to play etc would help. idk im not great at feedback

tldr:i sucks at this and i feel like there isnt enough time to complete objectives, perhaps a time or difficulty setting could be added? also possibly tutorial since its a bit confusing in the menu stuff.

(+1)

Your feedback is useful. I am aware the UI is confusing.

You mentioned you would like to have more time. You can actually get more time by changing your equipment in Hub area - Sealing Chamber.

My guess is you completely missed out on that, because of my bad ui design, and overwhelming text. There are over 60 different equipment implemented in the game (holding right click over buttons gives more detailed explanations). They can boost your gold game, add more time, give more mana, speed up mana regeneration, add additional abilities, and more.

If you would like to take it slow to learn the movement, and familiarize yourself with different dungeon rooms, there is also an option to play with unlimited time before you enter the dungeon (but you gain no gold).

I am going to need to come up with ways to make menus less confusing. Thank you for playing.

why of course and thanks for responding!

Thank you for commenting. It brings me great joy knowing people take interest in what I work on. I hope to see more feedback in future.

Ahah I played Doom Eternal recently and those dashes seem FAMILIAR :)

Speedlines are fun. I am happy you like them

can i fuck goblins

In future you are going to be able to see a lot of goblin fucking

Sometimes it crashes when I try to enter the dungeon, and I end up losing all my progress. But besides that, it's a really fun game.

It was the window version

Sorry to hear that. The progress is lost, because I have yet to add saving system. So the crash happens at loading screen, correct? Do you get the message in style of "the application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait", or any windows message at all, or does the game just close automatically?

"So the crash happens at loading screen, correct? Do you get the message in style of "the application is not responding.""

Yes, the crash happens at the loading screen and yes, I do get a message saying "the application is not responding", if I click "wait", it doesn't fix anything so I have to get out of the game

I see. I saw one person stream the game, and waiting actually helped when that happened. I'm going to keep optimizing, but I'm afraid the game sometimes might just be using more resources, than what your machine has. Unfortunately at this stage I really cannot tell what the minimum system requirements are.

I like the gameplay. I really want mor H-games that arent just loads of text. I look forward to seeing more of this.

Thank you. I hope future updates will meet your expectations when it comes to not just gameplay, but also the H parts.

I have a weird crash where occasionally when the timer runs out and I'm in the middle of a jump, my mouse disappears and I'm unable to press continue so I have to force stop the program. It also really sucks that there isn't a save function.

Saving system is on my long to do list.

Sorry to hear about the crash/bug. I never experienced it while testing. Did it happen more than once? Were you playing in full screen, or windowed? What jump were you using at the time? Were you alt-tabbing to a different window?

Yes it happened more than once. Full screen. The default jump because I didn't realize there were multiple. And probably alt tabbing because I was also watching Twitch on a second monitor and would move my mouse over to chat. Although nothing really seemed to effect it during gameplay. The camera would work fine, but I think what might have happened is the camera would freeze when the timer stopped, but didn't disengage the mouse so it was essentially stuck to the center. A quick fix would be to make the continue button also be pressed by enter or esc.

Thank you for your reply. Getting feedback and hearing about bugs is very important to me. Yes, I can make the continue button to also work on a keyboard key press of some kind for the next version as a quick fix, or have it continue after e.g. 5 seconds on its own. I was unfortunately not able to reproduce the bug myself.

Side note, I was going to work on more things before dropping the next version, but looking at my changelog notes, it's probably enough of fixes and new things to release it. I'm gonna add a fix to the problem you experienced, and do some testing, and probably release new version tomorrow.

Thank you for playing my game.

(1 edit)

Thankfully, after a few hours of playing the new build, that bug isn't popping up. Not saying it can't, but I had nothing happen this time. Although, I did find it odd that on a few occasions, when loading a random seed, a button popped up asking to try a different seed.

That's good to hear. I tried to fix the bug you reported earlier, even though I was not able to reproduce it, and I was wondering if you would experience it again even after my fixes. As for the loading, I mentioned that in my devlog, instead of trying to make every generation work, and allocating more memory, now when the given "problem seed" would take too long, you can just try a different seed instead of increasing the generation time. In theory it should decrease dungeon generation time for "good seeds", and make sure the game doesn't break for lower spec machines.

I expect dungeon generation to get better with more rooms I add in future.

I found the mirror but when i activated it, it said : lacking visitors. No face appeared in it but I have a quest that says to find the target that should appear in the mirror.

I found some pink hearts too but I'm not sure what they do or how to interact with them. also found a treasure chest but when I opened it, it was empty.
I'm not sure if this is intended but here's some things I noticed about the movement :
-crouching lets you dodge every arrow
-dashing in the air lets you skip pretty much anything, i never used the crates to jump on them
-when you jump on a wall you can wall jump at some angles
-crouching and jumping lets you jump double the height of a normal jump

Thank you for playing the game.

The "lacking visitors" appeared because you need to unlock visitors at the reception for the posibility of any of them appearing in the dungeon. (the more types of visitors unlocked, the bigger chance of getting them in the dungeon).

If you interacted with the hearts after Activating the mirror, you would see the finding the target is not valid anymore, and you should just return to the entrance. I shall make it more explicit in the pause screen as well.

"-crouching lets you dodge every arrow"

by the design, it lets you go under arrows that shoot at certain hight, but you would still get hit by e.g. arrows shooting from ceiling. The thing with crouching is that it slows you down, but that can also be followed with a dash, and jump.

"-dashing in the air lets you skip pretty much anything, i never used the crates to jump on them"

yes, dashing is really good for quickly getting through many obstacles. The downside is the precision, and of course Mana. If you play with a timer, you might find it that jumping on crates is less optional in some situations, because you gain extra mana, and bonus time from them.

"-when you jump on a wall you can wall jump at some angles"

I assume you are not talking about the multi jump ability, which lets you jump in mid-air. I would like to know more details in where you experienced that.

"-crouching and jumping lets you jump double the height of a normal jump"

it's not exactly double, but yes getting a boost to your jump from crouch is intended. You can also bounce higher if you land on crates and mushrooms in a crouching position. Crouching also lets you to drop faster, so it is good for using it in vertical rooms when dropping down.

Thank you very much for all the feedback

"The "lacking visitors" appeared because you need to unlock visitors at the reception for the posibility of any of them appearing in the dungeon. (the more types of visitors unlocked, the bigger chance of getting them in the dungeon)."
Ah I see makes sense. I tried playing again, unlocked visitors and got a face in the mirror

"If you interacted with the hearts after Activating the mirror, you would see the finding the target is not valid anymore, and you should just return to the entrance. I shall make it more explicit in the pause screen as well."

Yeah that wasn't clear at all.
"Mana. If you play with a timer, you might find it that jumping on crates is less optional in some situations, because you gain extra mana, and bonus time from them."
How do you get the timer? I just played 3 games in a row and I timed out in the third one, I never noticed the timer if there was one, maybe put it in the center of the screen? also what is the leftmost bar? the second one seems to be mana recharging. And yes forget the thing about walljump, I didn't understand the mana thing before but after reading your comment I got it

The timer/countdown is gonna be enabled by default unless you spend gold in the hug are in "Dungeon Room" to not have it. On first day it costs 0 gold to not have a timer.

The timer/countdown is the circle in top right corner as you play. The red color is your total time left, and the green is your bonus time with a buffer for whenever you jump on crates, collect coins and open new doors.

I hope I am going to have some good tutorial notes in future to make everything clear.

"what is the leftmost bar? the second one seems to be mana recharging."

You are correct, the second bar is your mana regeneration, the first bar is for your power jump ability and hover jump ability, which you switch to by pressing number keys, or use your mouse scroll wheel. Little placeholder graphic indicating which jump ability you have enabled is in bottom right corner. power jump and hover jump work by holding down the jump key. Bear in mind different abilities can have different mana cost.

Thank you for all the feedback, and playing my game. Even if it is just explaining the game, it gives me a good idea what I will need to include in tutorial

Allright I tested the different jump and I think I found a bug with the third one. When I press jump in midair it cost mana but doesn't do anything, while second jump style does nothing as well but doesn't cost mana, so I think third one should not cost mana in midair if you try to jump again in this mode. In my opinion the jump bar should be different color than the mana one

both jump 2 (power jump), and jump 3 (hover jump) work if you hold down the jump key, unlike jump 1 (multi jump), which you use when you hit the jump key in mid air. If you just press the jump key, and quickly release the power jump acts like a normal jump, which is not an air jump.
Hover jump's mana cost is deducted right after you you use it, and more mana gets deducted after the bar goes down.

Side Note, Power Jump stops your movement when you start charging it, but you can still squat down for extra boost.

Reminder if you have no mana, then pressing the jump key is just gonna do a normal jump (which is not an air jump). You can still hold the jump key for Power jump even without mana, and it is going to deduct mana as soon as you regenerate it.

"In my opinion the jump bar should be different color than the mana one"

I will keep that in mind when I am gonna be replacing UI.

A little early for public showing.

But the idea is neat. Never seen someone try someone like this. If you worked on it: down the road this could be pretty fun game

. I'll say tho the timer is rough, really short. I felt like I was speeding through rooms  grabbing coins I could to keep me going, but there's so few, and the buffer they give is so small that I'd get stuck once and the run would basically be over. but the movement feels fast and responsive. So over all controls good.

(+1)

Thank you for checking out the game in such early state of development.

I am currently re-balancing the timer to make it easier for new players to familiarize themselves with the game.

The bonus buffer time you can get from opening doors, collecting coins, and jumping on top of crates. Collecting everything as you go is not ideal, because you don't want to end up backtracking through empty rooms.

In future I am going to have different varieties of pick ups, some giving gold, others time, and mana. Character upgrades are also going to increase the time, buffer, and so on, but that is yet to be implemented.

Thanks again, I hope you're going to come back to the game when new version builds are released.
